NASHVILLE, TN – October 8, 2013 – On-the-rise singer/songwriter Brian Davis today announced that he has signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music Nashville and its publishing partner, Brantley Gilbert’s Write Or Die Music. Davis has written songs cut by his frequent co-writing partner, Valory Recording artist Brantley Gilbert (“Lights of My Hometown,” “One Hell Of An Amen,” “Read Me My Rights), Curb recording artist Lee Brice (“More My Style”), and Sony Music Nashville newcomer Tyler Farr (“Wish I Had A Boat”) among others.
Brian Davis has been a student of country music since he was six years old, growing up in rural North Carolina and watching his father and grandfather play the honky-tonks all across his home state. By age eight he was on the road with them, tuning their guitars. His passion eventually led him to Nashville where he would begin the “apprenticeship” of a lifetime: he began working with and learning from songwriting legend Harlan Howard. Davis honed his craft and continued to hit the road and build a solid, loyal fan base with his live show.
Davis has an original song “What If I Was Willing” that he co-wrote with Randy Montana and Billy Montana included in this week’s episode of the popular ABC Television hit series “Nashville” (Wednesday, Oct 9 at 10 pm ET/9 pm CT). The song will be performed twice by both Chris Carmack as Will Lexington (produced by Michael Knox) and Sam Palladio as Gunnar Scott (produced by music great Buddy Miller). The Warner/Chappell & Write Or Die Music songwriter is also featured this week on ABC Music Lounge’s “Nashville”-inspired docu-web series “On The Record.” In addition,
Davis is the featured songwriter in the Behind the Song section of this week’s issue of Country Weekly (on stands Monday, Oct 7). Davis has had an impressive 2012 and 2013. Booked by Creative Artist Agency (CAA), he has toured with Brantley Gilbert on his 2012 and 2013 “Hell On Wheels Tour,” and was invited to be part of the “2013 Jägermeister Country Tour” opening for country rocker Aaron Lewis. He kicked off this season of CMT.com’s raw performance series CONCRETE COUNTRY, which premiered for the first time on-air as well as online at www.concretecountry.CMT.com.
Davis has recorded a total of six independently released albums. His most recent album, Under The Influence, is available on iTunes now.
