NASHVILLE, TN – JANUARY 14, 2014 – Texas guitarist/singer/songwriter Brandon Alan kicks off 2014 riding high on the momentum of just being picked by MUSIC CONNECTION MAGAZINE as no. 5 on the Top 25 new artists of 2013. Preparing for his early 2014 country rock EP Different Way, Brandon has secured a coveted spot to bring his all-star band and rocking live show to the 2014 National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) show in Anaheim, CA on Friday, January 24 (GoPro Stage on the Grand Plaza at 12 Noon – 1 PM). The

masterful musicians who are all leaders in their respective field joining Brandon onstage will be Ramy Antoun on DRUMS (Seal, Black Eyed Peas, LIVE, Alexi Murdoch, Buckethead); Brett Simons on BASS (Melissa Ethridge, Brian Wilson, Fiona Apple); Clayton Corn on KEYS (Pat Green) and Jacob Hildebrand on GUITAR (Miranda Lambert, Deadman).

Brandon will also play an acoustic jam session with his All-Star band at the UFIP Cymbals Booth (Hall D, Booth 2532) at 3:30 pm on Friday.

The guitar-aficianado, known for his bluesy rock country music that has been described as “John Mayer dipped in a country river,” will have the opportunity to warm up with his All-Star band the night before NAMM with a live show at the famed Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, CA on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 11 pm. Hotel Cafe is known for being where tastemakers and musicians of all flavors come to hear music (1623 N Cahuenga Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028 (323) 461-2040).

Brandon’s musical influences reflect his style, sound and moreso his passion for masterful guitar playing including Jimi Hendrix, Vince Gill, Brad Paisley, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler/Dire Straits, Sting, Joe Walsh, Foo Fighters, Stephen Sills/Crosby Stills & Nash, Matchbox 20 and Johnny Rzeznik to name a few.

Brandon was introduced to the guitar by his father, once an aspiring guitarist himself. His Dad taught him on an iconic 74 Les Paul which makes the history even more extraordinary. His father’s eclectic music collection introduced the young musician to many legends, but he says the reason he began playing more seriously was the solo he saw Joe Walsh do on VH1, in a clip from when he was with The Eagles.

Brandon spent many years in his very own “musical graduate school” in the Live Music Capitol of the World – Austin, TX where he honed his craft of songwriting, guitar musicianship and developed his style as a performer playing out four night a week. He refined the unique sound that has become his trademark – a layered blend of country, rock and contemporary blues.

His current single “Take Me To The Place” is available at iTunes and the video can be seen HERE.

Brandon moved to Austin, TX after meeting with the Assistant Chair of the Guitar Department at the famed Berklee School of Music in Boston. After he auditioned, the professor’s professional opinion was that his skill and talent levels were far beyond that of a typical student; the professor recommended that the best road for Brandon was not four years in college but to embark immediately on his career. Alan took this advice and chose Austin, Texas as the perfect environment to hone his craft. He has since toured all over the United States building a solid and loyal fan base from Nashville to Chicago to Los Angeles. He has opened for a variety of music greats like Vince Gill, the Time Jumpers and Ed Roland of Collective Soul, John Mayer and Ben Folds. While in Austin, Brandon opened for guitar greats Redd Voelkart (Merle Haggard/Asleep at the Wheel) as well as Austin’s famed Malford Milligan, known for being the lead singer for Austin’s famed rock/blues band Storyville. Brandon has played famed music venues across the country including The Roxy in LA, Joe’s Bar in Chicago, The Mint in LA and headlined a show at the Hard Rock in Hollywood.
