Country Weekly will premiere country music’s rising guitarist/singer/songwriter Brandon Alan’s new video “Different Way.” The video will premiere exclusively at CountryWeekly.com on Tuesday, April 22. The guitar-aficionado, whose music has been described as “John Mayer dipped in a country river” just released his bluesy rock country EP – Different Way earlier this month. Brandon is currently on his first nationwide radio tour to promote the single which has already been added and playing in over 50 small market radio stations with more being added each day.
Brandon, who once auditioned to attend the Berklee School of Music in Boston but was encouraged by the Assistant Chair of the Guitar Dept to embark on his career immediately because his talents were beyond that of the typical student, has already been gaining momentum in the last few months. He was recently picked by MUSIC CONNECTION MAGAZINE as no. 5 on the Top 25 new artists of 2013, and just this month Country Music Association’s CMA Closeup magazine chose him as a “Who New To Watch in 2014. Brandon secured a coveted spot to play a Grand Plaza main stage show at the 2014 National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) last month (January).
The bluesy country singer’s musical influences reflect his style,
sound and moreso his passion for masterful guitar playing including Vince Gill, Brad Paisley, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler/Dire Straits, Sting, Joe Walsh, Foo Fighters, Stephen Stills/Crosby Stills & Nash, Matchbox 20, Jimi Hendrix and Johnny Rzeznik to name a few.
Brandon spent many years in his very own “musical graduate school” in the Live Music Capitol of the World – Austin, TX where he honed his craft of songwriting, guitar musicianship and developed his style as a performer playing out four nights a week. He refined the unique sound that has become his trademark – a layered blend of country, rock and contemporary blues.
